GENERAL INFORMATION

Geneva Peace Week 2024 will take place from 14 to 18 October at the Maison de la Paix with the exception of the Opening Ceremony that will take place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and will have as an overarching theme “What is Peace?”. As well as the Kofi Annan Peace Address.

Participation in Geneva Peace Week is free of charge. The language of instruction is English. 

REGISTRATION

To participate in Geneva Peace Week 2024, attendees, speakers, moderators and organisers must register via our website. An additional registration will be needed to attend the Opening Ceremony and the Kofi Annan Peace Address.

Registration will open as of Monday 16 September and close on Friday 18 October. 

Please note that your personal data will be deleted by the end of 2024. 

IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE  

Please note that, though mandatory, registration is for informational purposes only. Seat allocations at all events are made on a first come, first served basis. We therefore invite attendees to arrive on time. 

Room locations will be indicated on the GPW24 programme that will be released on Monday 16 September 2024. You can refer to the Venue webpage to get further information about the Campus de la Paix.

ONLINE MODALITIES

All events will be accessible online via Zoom. Attendees that registered for online participation will receive the links for each event by email as of Monday 14 October 2024. Please make sure to connect on time and to indicate your name and institutional affiliation.

Geneva Peace Week will feature around 70 events spread over 5 working days. Find here below further information regarding the event formats.

Ceremonies

Opening and closing ceremonies will serve as true momentum during the week and will feature an array of distinguished guests who will discuss macro topics related to peace such as the 2024 overarching theme.

Panels and Workshops

Panels are designed to bring together multiple experts and/or stakeholders to both explore a specific topic and engage in lively discourse to share their perspectives and provide the audience with a rich and informative experience. Workshops are practitioner-led and facilitated with a high degree of interactivity in group work, aimed at offering participants the opportunity to gain, exchange, and share knowledge, good practices, and peacebuilding skills.

Special events

Special events are captivating experiences crafted for the general public, focusing on pivotal topics related to peace. These events offer engaging and diverse formats, including TED-talks, movie screenings, peer-to-peer exchanges, artistic contributions, and captivating performances, ensuring an immersive exploration of peace-related themes for all attendees.

Networking opportunities

Organisers, speakers and participants will have the opportunity to meet and network throughout the week during networking breakfasts, coffee breaks and cocktails.
