Geneva Peace Week Lead Assistant
Location: Geneva Expected Timeline: September-October 2024 Time Commitment: 80% (4 days a week)
The Geneva Peacebuilding Platform Foundation (GPP) is seeking a detail-oriented individual to assist the Geneva Peace Week Lead and support the GPP Team in the planning, coordination, and execution of Geneva Peace Week 2024.
Role Overview:
As the Geneva Peace Week (GPW) Lead Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of GPW 2024 by supporting the Geneva Peace Week Lead and the GPP Team. Your responsibilities will span across the preparation, execution, and post-event phases, ensuring seamless event management and a high-quality experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Before Geneva Peace Week:
Assist the GPW Lead in answering questions from both organisers and attendees.
Finalise all details regarding hospitality for GPW24.
Hire and train temporary staff.
Liaise with external partners.
Process payments for invoices related to GPW24.
Book travel and accommodation for speakers.
During Geneva Peace Week:
Ensure that all events run smoothly, including logistics management.
Supervise temporary staff.
Provide support to organisers and attendees.
After Geneva Peace Week:
Send event transcriptions to all organisers.
Collect and sort data for the event reporting.
Your Profile:
Swiss or EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Switzerland at the time of application is a prerequisite.
Fluency in French and English.
Degree (bachelor or master) in fields relevant to Geneva Peace Week such as human rights, international law, international relations or other.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Basic technical proficiency, including familiarity with audio-visual equipment.
Previous experience in event coordination.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Punctuality and reliability are essential.

As the Communications Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication and promotion of Geneva Peace Week (GPW) 2024. You will support the Communications Coordinator and the GPP Team in various tasks before, during, and after the event, ensuring a cohesive and engaging communication strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Before Geneva Peace Week:
Assist the Communications Coordinator in publishing content for the social media campaign.
Update the GPW website, including the GPW24 programme.
Prepare all visual materials related to GPW24.
Process payments for invoices related to GPW24.
Help with the layout and content of the leaflet programme.
During Geneva Peace Week:
Promote events on social media.
Record promotional material.
Supervise temporary staff.
Draft and send newsletters.
After Geneva Peace Week:
Upload and share videos with organisers.
Collect and sort data for the event reporting.
Your Profile:
