With more than 100 applications received, the selection process for the 10-year anniversary of Geneva Peace Week is finally complete. Let us be honest, the selection has not been easy, the selection committee, composed of members of the GPWconsortium, had to select approximately 30 sessions to be part of the threethematic tracks. In the end, around 40 lead organisations and their partners will participate in the 10th edition of Geneva Peace Week and will host eitherpolicy briefings or workshops. A few more organisations will also contribute to theDigital Series by producing podcasts or videos that will be made available before GPW, which, as you know, will be held at the Maison de la Paix from 30 October to 3 November 2023.
A special thank you to all organisations that did submit applications to participate in GPW23 but did not make it to the final selection, your participation is only a postponement to the next editions!
In addition, our fundraising campaign has been successful! Thanks to the generous support of private and public institutions, we will be able to enhance the experience of participants and organisers and diversify the type of activities offered during GPW by bringing, among others, art and culture to the 10-year anniversary. The GPW team reserves a few surprises for you, so stay tuned for further details! The final programme will be launched on Monday 25 September 2023 at the same time as the registration opening for anyone willing to attend GPW.
Meanwhile, the team will now concentrate on following up with selected organisations to complete the programme in due time but also in planning additional events in collaboration with partner institutions, and concentrate in upgrading the website. The official promotion of GPW23 will start at the end of September, so don’t hesitate to follow us on social media, the main source of information in regards to GPW besides our new website.
That’s it for now. We are looking forward to meeting you all for this special edition, either online or in person.
