The Global Compact on Women, Peace, and Security and Humanitarian Action (WPS-HA Compact) is a multi-stakeholder initiative launched at the Generation Equality Forum in 2021. A roadmap of over 1000 specific actions, the Global Compact is designed to address gaps and bolster accountability in promoting women’s rights and gender equality in conflict and crisis settings.

Member States, United Nations entities, regional organizations, the private sector, civil society—such as women-led organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions can all sign on and use the roadmap to reflect on their progress and identify areas for improvement.  Core themes are Financing, Participation, Leadership, Economic Security and Protection.

At this event, we will share more about the UN Women led Global Compact, and the GCSP, DCAF and GICHD will sign onto it and share their commitments.  We will discuss ways to enhance synergies between us and invite you to join us to informally discuss how we can engage with you and increase collaboration in Geneva and globally.

Speakers

Ms. Sofia Calltorp -  Director of the UN Women Geneva Office and Chief of Humanitarian Action
